I can't elaborate passionately in words how much I learned about filmmaking and photography from this extremely knowledgable human being. Everything from the baby steps of pre-production to the fundamental aspects of framing/lighting scenes in production, and the true method of storytelling in post production inside the editor has been forever impacted by Hayden Maisoneuve Yates. I strongly recommend signing up for this course if you have a true desire to tell stories via motion picture. He's a shining example of a teacher, mentor, friend, and overall human being. His ability to facilitate real world examples of filmmaking is beyond valuable to anyone pursuing a career in this industry.

Hayden was one of my favorite professors in my time at the Art Institute of Austin. He's creative, patient, knowledgeable, experienced, respectful, detail-oriented, modest, and most of all he's a very open minded instructor. He keeps updated his knowledge on new cameras, equipment and even new techniques as technology progresses on a constant basis. He respects and acknowledges talent in whatever form it comes and helps students bring out the best attributes of their abilities. He constantly strives to encourage students to follow their dreams, whatever they are, and he's always there when you need to hear an honest opinion about your work. I rarely get the chance to talk about someone as unique and wholesome as Hayden. He is one of the most talented, dedicated, and conscientious creatives in the industry.
